About

Our next exhibition in the galleries is The End of the Line: Attitudes in Drawing, which runs from Friday 22 May until Sunday 19 July and includes a special three day Drawing Weekend (Friday 5 - Sunday 7 June). The exhibition features eleven internationally acclaimed artists, Jan Albers, Michaël Borremans, Marc Brandenburg, Fernando Bryce, Kate Davis, Kim Hiorthøy, Monika Grzymala, David Haines, Garrett Phelan, Naoyuki Tsuji, and Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, who each explore and celebrate fresh approaches to drawing in contemporary art. You can expect to find a vast range of possible interpretations of drawing, from meticulously rendered scenes from everyday life to three-dimensional drawings invading architectural space. The exhibition includes animation by Naoyuki Tsuji, Michael Borremans' enigmatic scenes of disrupted scale, Fernando Bryce's appropriated graphic imagery, invented fantasies by Sandra Vasquez de la Horra and Monika Grzymalla's site specific invasion with wild delineations of tape. To coincide with The End of the Line, Monika Grzymala has created Ruptures, a new site-specific installation will be reconfigured by the artist in the Vide space at the Bluecoat.
