About

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time is a video performance presented in an errant pedagogical mode. Beginning with applause and ending with snoring, the presentation confuses speculation and cartography in an attempt to animate our theatrical relationship to subjectivity. Spirits of both tragic and comedic personae like David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, and The Man without Qualities are summoned in support of a dramaturgy that situates each one of us beside ourselves. It Seemed a Good Idea at the Time was originally commissioned for the symposium Intangible Economies, curated by Antonia Hirsch for Fillip (http://fillip.ca/events/intangible-economies), November, 2011.
