Ishihara curating space for KUBE launch

About

KUBE is pleased to have Ishihara curating the exhibition during our launch events this weekend; Ishihara are an open submission group exhibition curated by Adam Lewis-Jacob and Jason Kerley. The group intentionally allows the viewer to make their own narratives and imagine their own interpretations by trusting their own eyes, by not dictating any particular themes and thus avoiding any artistic constraints. Ishihara at KUBE will mark the first time that the usually fugacious and temporary exhibition will be shown for an extended period of time from the 23rd until the 26th April. The show will present an eclectic mix of visually vivacious, playfully pensive artwork. An exhibition tinged with the profoundly stupid, yet stupidly profound. Saturday April 25th will mark the culmination of the exhibition and will reflect Ishihara's ethos of mixing contemporary art with music and social interaction. During the day the gallery will be turned into a giant Craft Club; literally knee deep in cardboard, glitter, PVA and sticky-back-plastic! Dive on in and see what you can construct, big or small. Suitable for little kids and grown-up kids alike. The night will include sporadic performance amongst diverse live music from the twisted blues of the aptly named One Man Destruction Show, to the delicate tightrope of electronic wizardry that is Littleboat, to name but a few. Artists: Jono Allen | Lucy Apple | Sarah Bowker-Jones | Neville Cooper | Max Galbraith | Tom Hackney | Neil Hedger | Emily Hussey | Jason Kerley | Daniel Lahen | Adrian Lee | Chris Lee | Adam Lewis-Jacob | Jamie Malone | Yorgo Manis | Joel Muggleton | Holly Simpson | Josepha Sanna | Oliver Topple | Sarah West
