Claire Rogers Beautiful Mono Print. “The forms, textures and detail of landscapes appear almost spontaneously through the process of monotype printmaking. The ink, manipulated on the plate’s surface, makes layers that evolve, summoning atmospheric scenes that can play towards abstraction or, be tamed by an addition of a layer of botanical drawing. A primary focus on light in the landscape looks at soft mists that mask the sun, creating environments both gentle and brooding. Blending ink allows a deeper character to form, bringing currents of wind through filigree trees, bendy hawthorns and lone pines. Wandering through these vistas, the viewer can be drawn into ‘other places’, sensing the familiar, yet illusive nature of memory and belonging.” Claire Rogers

Linda’s beatiful Pastel Paintings are expressions of joy and pleasure. She particularly loves exploring the shapes, forms, colours and textures of landscape and seascape. She often sketches en plein air then works with these drawings, together with her memories and the sensations of that day, to create a finished piece of work in her studio. She enjoys the pursuit of an idea and exploring this through a printmaking process or oil paint to create a finished work. She studied History of Art at the University of Edinburgh (MA Hons) and Fine Art Printmaking at the University of Wolverhampton (BA Hons).
