About

Edward Mackenzie is a passionate artist inspired by objet trouvé - old and new manufactured objects which he uses to create assemblage art. The work has a strong design element that give reference to ideas to history,
humour, or allegory. His choice of material directs his work into various series of artwork; in this exhibition you will see art inspired by American 1950's (Dee's) Ice cream packaging and Old piano's.

The Artist was born in Los Angeles in 1937, raised in Connecticut, attended Ogunquit (summer) School of Painting, and Parsons School of Design NYC.  He graduated from The Cooper Union School of Art in 1960. Edward worked as a freelance
Illustrator and Designer, and as Assistant to Alexei Brodovitch in New York. Awarded a Fulbright Scholarship 1966-68, Edward Mackenzie studied at the Royal College of Art in London.  As a part-time Art Lecturer in England, he continued freelance
work for a variety of clients including Milton Keynes Corporation, Observer Magazine, Penguin Books, Polydor Records, and Jaeger in Paris. Edward now lives in Stoke-on-Trent, England where he continues to produce and sell his Artwork.

"As a Fine Art Gallery we love seeing how Art can impact peoples every day lives, enrich the community and allow people to express themselves in such an important way. We have been based in Ironbridge for over 12 years providing a lively hub for both
Artists and Art lovers alike. Our aim is to support local and international Artists, raising the profile of Art in Shropshire and our beautiful large Art Gallery gives us the ideal place to display a wide selection of incredible work. Mackenzie's work is amazing and we look forward to displaying his work for all to view"
