About
We are pleased to return to Fitzrovia with our upcoming group exhibition on November 27th with "Invited Worlds," an all-female show exploring the imaginative realms crafted by each artist.
The exhibition is inspired by both occult themes and seminal feminist texts, particularly Simone de Beauvoir's "The Second Sex," which explores the concept of "the Other." Historically, women who delved into science, rituals, and unconventional beliefs were often marginalized and labeled as malevolent or unnatural-cast as witches or outsiders. "Invited Worlds" seeks to subvert this narrative by celebrating the unrestrained creativity of women as they explore complex topics such as rituals, religion, science, motherhood, memory, and the refusal to be defined.
In this exhibition, the unique narratives are showcased not as anomalies but as empowering mediums that allow women to share their worlds, embracing the uncanny and the unconventional. These worlds are not created merely for external observers but are profound expressions of personal narratives and ideas. Through their work, the artists reclaim autonomy and offer new perspectives on what it means to engage with one's inner world and externalized expression.
