About
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE OF THIS WORKSHOP HAS CHANGED FROM 14th APRIL. IT WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON 12th MAY.
During this two-hour session Knowle West Media Centre's technicians will give you a tour of the workshop at KWMC: The Factory and introduce you to a laser cutter and CNC machine. Both of these machines can be used for a range of applications, including making furniture, light-boxes, signage, stencils, jewellery, stationery and art pieces.
After the tour and demonstration you will design an item to take home with you.
The course is suitable for people who are new to digital manufacturing and interested in how the technology works. Digital manufacturing uses machines that are controlled by computers to cut and shape materials such as wood and plastic. These techniques can be used to make a range of items and are generally faster and more precise than traditional techniques.
Tea and coffee are provided. Price: £30.
