In The Music Room you will find a growing collection of the best recorded music from Scotland’s independent, small label and unsigned scene. The Music Room will exclusively stock the music that is being played now, only new music by the most exciting new bands in Scotland. It opens on Saturday October 31st, accompanied by a weekend of live music performances in the Shawlands Arcade.
The records collected by ArtVillage so far include a variety of music genres such as indie, pop, folk and alternative country, as well as electronic drum and bass, techno or experimental pieces in cooperation with local record labels, and our vibrant collection is still developing. We also stock unique examples of limited edition DIY tapes, CDs and vinyl.
