Richard Wheater of Neon Workshops leads this intensive one day introduction to the history and sculptural properties of neon. Working from your own design ideas, you will create a neon sculpture by manipulating glass tubes over fire at Neon Workshops, Wakefield, and create new piece of neon to take home. Participants have the option to pay to have their glass processed and lit with a power supply.

This workshop is suitable for beginners.

About the artist

Richard William Wheater uses performance and installation to discuss our relationship with the natural environment. His work has been exhibited world-wide, often incorporating glass and neon. In 2010 he established the internationally renowned Neon Workshops in his home city of Wakefield.
