Feign Art is pleased to announce its first exhibition, the last ever show to be held at Kennington’s Grade-II listed ArtsLav. Into the Æther is the first solo exhibition of Miranda Pissarides’ work in the UK.
About
This commercial exhibition, which comprises sculpture, painting and mosaic work, explores the artist’s interpretation of the sensory and transient nature of matter.
Pissarides’ meticulously painted works are juxtaposed against the enigmatic nineteenth-century space wherein homoerotic graffiti scribbled on the doors clashes visually with pristine white metro tiles. Lust, repulsion, cleanliness and depravity are interwoven by the artist’s canny use of the space and of the materials in her artworks.
Pissarides manipulates colour and surface to convey temptation, chaos and entropy. Wielding raw pigment into visceral colours and voluptuous textures, she presents a unique and spectral palette that calls to mind a rarefied liminal state: the quintessential æther
