Interplay: recent paintings by Chris Gollon

About

Chris Gollon has long taken partial inspiration for his paintings from popular music and literature. A recent museum acquisition was entitled 'Einstein & The Jealous Monk' after a Bob Dylan lyric, and now hangs with works by Bacon and Sickert in the Huddersfield Art Gallery. In this exhibition, Chris Gollon shows works influenced by Dylan lyrics, those of Bryan Ferry and also works partially influenced by Cervantes' Don Quixote (pictured is Sancho Panza Being Tossed in the Blanket by The Landlord and Assorted Ruffians", acrylic on canvas 40" x 40"). There is also a work partially inspired by Edward Lear's great poem of unrequited love, 'The Dong WIth A Luminous Nose'. More information on this and other museum exhibitions at the artist's official website: www.chrisgollon.com"
