Artist Ivan Liotchev brings people from different cultures and backgrounds together to draw and create large vibrant artworks.
Since its birth in 2010, Ivan has taken the International Collaborative Drawing Project all over the world. For example, he’s recently started drawings with Native Americans and finished them with bankers in Geneva. Next stop is Doncaster and he’s keen to get local people doodling.
During the Easter holidays Ivan will host a series of drawing workshops at The Point including a free drop-in day where anyone can take part in creating new art. Join us on Wednesday 23 March between 10am-12noon and 1-3pm and make your mark.
The exhibition also includes ‘Doodle Knit’ textiles. Inspired by the International Collaborative Drawing Project, visual artist Caroline Cullingford has been helping local people create work that combines drawing, doodling and finger knitting.
Caroline says: “On display in the gallery will be collaborative art made by some of the groups that meet regularly at The Point. We’ve brought together work from home educated young people, carers and those they care for and adults with mental health difficulties.
“Visitors can give doodle knitting a try as the exhibition includes resources and instructions to create super simple finger knits.”
