presents Interlude for a Summer Night
, a performance programme that introduces works by H/D (Himali Singh Soin & David Soin Tappeser), Richard Melkonian and Gabriel Francisco Lemos at Arnold Circus, a public garden in the heart of Shoreditch.
The performances will unfold across the Victorian bandstand in the centre of the Circus and in its surrounding paths, creating a trail that invites the audience to move around the site.
Looking at the architecture and historical context of the site through the lens of movement, sound and spoken word, the performances will be repeated three times on a rotating basis in order to reflect upon notions of liveness and reiteration.
The event is part of the Associate Programme of Art Night 2017. Art Night 2017 will see London’s East End transformed with free art and music by some of the world’s leading artists for the night of Saturday 1 July 2017. Audiences will be able to experience a trail of art, architecture, dance, design and music throughout the night. Art Night 2017 is in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery and curated by independent curator and writer Fatos Ustek. The festival is generously supported by international auction house Phillips.
