Join us for January's Interfaces Monthly. A talks program for those interested in work at the junction of art and technology
January's edition of Interfaces Monthly focusses on Mixed and Virtual Reality and their potential as forms of collaborative storytelling and how they are being used to redefine ideas of 'play' in terms of the viewer's experience and as experimental creative media for artists.
The Panellists include :
Robin McNicholas, Co-founder & Director, Marshmallow Laser Feast who will be discussing their new collaborative VR piece AltCity CDMX: Chameleon, a project produced for Mutek MX and the British Council.
Francesca Panetta, executive editor, virtual reality at the Guardian who will talk about the Guardian's in-house VR team who have worked on award winning projects such as 6×9: A virtual experience of solitary confinement and Underworld: A Virtual Exploration of London's sewers.
Adham Faramawy is an artist who works in digital video, print, painting, sculptural installation and computer programs. He has been selected by HTC as one of three artists to create a series of VR based works for the Royal Academy pop up show Virtually Real.
Interfaces Monthly is a regular get-together for people working at the junction of art and technology. Organised by the Barbican and The Trampery, each monthly event includes showcased work, presentations and discussions in an informal social setting.
