It is the first exhibition to be presented within Vagabond.
Vagabond (mobile) gallery is a curatorial platform, led by Oana Damir, and its aim is to showcase artistic work on a regular basis, in various venues across the South of England and internationally.
With “Instance”, the first exhibition launching in November, Vagabond plans to start a contemporary art discourse, an invitation to reflection on social values and issues.
The photographic exhibition is themed on identity, the humanity revealed and the connections between new media and technology, art and artificiality. An indirect dialogue is formed between the artworks, and it correspondingly projects the thematic in subject. The projects share a tendency to tribute new media art and technological advancements, at the same time as evaluating social issues and concerns.
The path of an independent curator allows the freedom to move forward from commercial strains and fully focus on creativity, message and the experience, permitting to showcase these at will, something that perhaps could not be achieved in a conventional institution.
