Fotokino invites Mari Kanstad Johnsen to exhibit her colorful drawings.
About
Mari Kanstad Johnsen (born in Bergen, Norway 1981) resides and works in Oslo as an artist, illustrator and writer. She has her education from KHIO/Oslo (BA in Visual Communication) and Konstfack/Stockholm (MA in Storytelling).
Since completing studies in 2010 she has illustrated 12 childrens books, 4 she has also written and 6 translated and published in France. The book « I´m out of here » won a special mention in the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2017. She has also produced 2 artist books, stencil printed during residencies in Italy and Netherlands.
In addition to book making, Johnsen also works with editorial illustration and other commissioned illustration-works, and with independent art works.
Her way of working often has its starting point in analogue drawing, ink or pencil, sometimes completed digitally, and some drawings are 100% digitally made.
