Art to collect and colour with PICTURA!

About

A feast for the eyes and stomach. Relax and enjoy a sumptuous evening of nature, colour, food and drink. Celebrate beauty in nature and flights of the imagination with Helen Ward & Niroot Puttapipat as you work with their PICTURAs and gain insight into their artistic processes. Enjoy a harvest feast made from produce grown in the gallery's roof top garden and botanical drinks. Examine the importance of nature in Thomas Horsfall's Manchester Art Museum and rarely seen botanical studies from his collection. Helen Ward has won many awards as both author and illustrator of children's books for twenty years. Her natural history drawings are packed with accurate detail and are full of emotion. Helen's Hedgerow Year PICTURA offers a glimpse into the life of the English countryside, with each season described along its length. On side B, you can learn about each element of flora and fauna and draw your own country scene. ‘Ward is an illustrator of exceptional talent' (Books for Keeps). Niroot Puttapipat spent his childhood drawing, reading and acting out stories, leading to a lifelong interest in history, art, literature and the natural world. Niroot's Faeries is a modern day reminder of the golden age of illustration. On side B, you can follow the story of a chance encounter with faeries. His delicate and romantic figures would sit comfortably alongside those of Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac.
