About

ink #2 is the 2nd édition of our new regular event programmed by Fotokino. Taking place at the Studio Fotokino in Marseille, it is dedicated to independent and alternative publishers in the art sector, all around the world. The exhibition gathers books dealing with graphic design, drawing, painting and photography, and selects publishing houses working outside the traditional book industry. Most of the time, they edit a small number of copies, with the aim of serving a narrow market, using alternative printing tools, such as Risograph printing for example. The distribution is done in-house through each publisher’s website, making them completely independent in the production and diffusion processes. This new kind of alternative editorial activity considers books as a true art form, and therefore all the exhibited books in Ink can be seen as so many works of art, presented in a collective show.
