Belonging in Britain - Father's Hands. A film which explores how we articulate what is family and home

About

With Belonging in Britain - Father's Hands Pollard has created a film portrait of her parents including their migration from Guyana to the UK in the 1950s. Using archive photographs and audio interviews she asks questions of remembrance and how we feel and articulate what is family and home. The project was shown as part of The Black Diaspora Visual Art Symposium that took place at the Frank Collymore Hall in Bridgetown, Barbados in February 2009. Professor Andrew Dewdney from Southbank University will be in conversation with Ingrid Pollard before the screening, followed by a discussion and Q&A. Events are free but to ensure your place please book by email bookings@rivingtonplace.org or telephone 020 7749 1240
