ING Discerning Eye Exhibition

About

Each year the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition contains an imaginative and broad selection of both contemporary and traditional artists, setting established names alongside new talent and connecting new artists with new audiences. This exhibition features small, affordable art and, by renewing its six selectors every year, the work selected stays fresh and new names are brought in to the arena. The 2008 selectors are: collectors, Bob Benton and Brenda Fenton; artists, Fred Cuming RA D.Litt and Anita Klein; and critics, Robin Morgan and Frances Carey. The ING Discerning Eye is an art buyer's dream. The 20-inch size limit ensures all art remains in the domestic, highly affordable scale. Further to selecting from open submissions, the selectors also invite artists they know to take part. This year we have invited artists such as Nadav Kander, Paula Rego RE, Anthony Green RA, Craigie Aitchison RA and Albert Irvin RA exhibiting. The charm of The ING Discerning Eye exhibition lies in the unpredictability and variety of the selectors' choice of works, providing the opportunity for unknown and extremely well established artists working in different mediums and styles to show alongside each other. The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition runs from 13—23 November 2008 at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1Y 5BD, 10am — 5pm daily. Admission free. Nearest tube: Charing Cross. Gallery reception: 0207 968 0962
