About
To accompany the exhibition, 'Art Apart', this is an artists' talk and sale of work.
Art Apart is a travelling exhibition by the charity Indian Futures. It consists of work by local artists that were created during Covid19 lockdowns. The main aim of Art Apart is to shine a light and celebrate the often undervalued -and definitely underpaid- amazing work of artists during the pandemic. The exhibition will feature a large illustrations series "Lost in Books" by Marta Jim. Other works by Firm Gently, Remi Weremczuk, Michelle Fine, Monir Amiri, Mark Mayes, Sharon Earth-Girl and Stee Louw, will be shown digitally.
Indian Futures is a registered charity that aims to improve the standards of living in rural areas of South India. They support community development projects, with a particular focus on quality education and women’s empowerment. In the UK and Spain, they organise fundraising events that promote education and the arts.
You can find more of their work on Instagram: @indianfutures, or Facebook: indianfuturestamilnadu or on their website: https://www.indianfutures.org/
The exhibition can be viewed in the Black and Minority Ethnic Community Partnership Centre in Brighton from 12th November- 12th December.
