People who have saved this event:

‘In situ' is an exhibition of 4 young artists whose works relates to the architectural and the site specific. The works in this exhibition focus on a specific feature relating to the built environment- a square of a map, a particular sound, or one building- which undergo processes of selection and magnification through increasing volume or visual enlargement, leading to a distortion and transformation of the original form. Each of the artists respond to and incorporate their work into the space, whether it be the conversion of sound sources in the acousmatic installation by Kite & Laslett, producing a new multi-layered soundscape; the incorporation of materials accumulated in the space in the framing and layout of Eleanor Wemyss' architectural drawings; or the use of the curved ceiling space to express the vertiginous qualities of the views of built structures in Sophie Hoyle's site-specific photocollage. The works expand out in the space, sonically, or visually outside of the traditional strictures of paper edges and framed work, becoming incorporated back into and altering the characteristics of the space.
