A stunning collection of work by Marta Ptaszkiewicz.
About
Music, dance and a fascination with the organic processes of nature inspire the striking, atmospheric paintings in Marta's latest show at Naked Eye. These strands enrich each other to enable her to bring you the distinctive artwork she has become known for.
Through her work, she hopes to awaken an emotional response in the viewer and help them to connect with their own inner worlds.
Usually having no visual preconception of the outcome, Marta's work is created through spontaneous improvisation. Following her own inner movement evoked by music, she is naturally guided by the painting process, letting the music, feelings and paints steer her. Often during this creative process, she reaches the point where all senses unite into one and her sense of self disappears. This allows her to discover new worlds that are surprising yet recognisable, with traces of the natural forms which have impressed her deeply and imprinted themselves on her mind and body.
Marta is a classically trained musician who attended the National Music School in Poland. She has an MA in philosophy and has training in dance and dance therapy. She studied Art and Design in Brighton.
The Improvisations – Painting to Music exhibition runs at the Naked Eye Gallery from 2nd-23rd April 2016.
