About
What happens when an image slips beyond its surface?
Image: Embodied is a group exhibition that unfolds as an inquiry into the material life of the still image, featuring the work of three London-based artists: Michaela Šindlerová, Jonah Hoffman, and Tinatin Shaburishvili. Curated by Arina Baburskova and Diana Kazarian, the exhibition traces how images not only represent, but distort, absorb, and echo - sometimes fractured, sometimes uncanny, always embodied.
Between the photographic fragmentation and the layered duration of painting and installation, the artists engage with images as something unstable - a presence in flux, inviting a dialogue on remediation, materiality and transformation.
What begins as a photograph becomes something else, moving beyond photography as a fixed record and exploring its dissolution into painting and mixed media: these are images that want to bend, blur, shiver. They hold memory, but imperfectly; they reflect, but not cleanly, asking to be touched, misread, interrupted.
