17 Sep 2015
Guest Projects
London, United Kingdom
General opening times: Friday to Sunday- 11am-6pm, or by appointment.
I’m not done/2 is the second instalment from I'm not done projects and will take place at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects in September 2015. The exhibition will be an evolving laboratory and a work in progress itself.
I’m not done is an artist led initiative instigated by conversations between artists Kathrin Bonnar and Cherelle Sappleton. The exhibitions and events developed from the project look curiously at the process of art making - thinking about decision making processes, identity and authorship, and asks artists to exhibit work and concepts un-resolved to themselves. Spaces are used as open and encouraging test beds for activity, exploring notions of the unresolved in its broadest sense.
I’m not done/2 is the second instalment from I'm not done projects and will take place at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects in September 2015. The exhibition will be an evolving laboratory and a work in progress itself. The installation will start with fragments of works from project curators Cherelle Sappleton and Kathrin Bonnar alongside invited artists Matthew Edwards and Patricia Pisanelli.
After staging an open call, with guest judge, Katie Guggenheim (Exhibitions and & Events Curator at Chisenhale Gallery), Bonnar and Sappleton have invited further creative practitioners to participate in the evolving exhibition. Practitioners selected are: Meg Ferguson, Katarina Strasser and duo Jane Frances Dunlop & Mira Loew. Through consecutive week-long residencies participants will add fragments of their outcomes to the existing installation; exploring and developing their practice independently, whilst also thinking about how this relates to the collective and open environment I’m not done/2 creates.
Guest Projects will become a multi-faceted studio/ project/ performance/ exhibition space - exhibiting the process of making itself. The residency will enable participation, experimentation and collaboration. Evolving from the creative participants, a complimentary programme of events will be open to the public throughout the month of September, details for which will be listed on http://imnotdone-blog.tumblr.com/.
Launch: 3rd September 2015, 7-9pm
Closing Party: 26.09.2015- 7-10pm
