Ilegal Mezcal and Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar present the latest installment in their quarterly art series: “Explore the Expansion of Space” by Ruvan, an immersive gallery experience combining photography, virtual reality, sound and more.
About
Ilegal Mezcal and the Rose Bar of Gramercy Park Hotel’s mission with their ongoing gallery series is to activate all five senses by creating a physically and mentally stimulating artistic experience. Therefore, “Explore the Expansion of Space” is an immersive art installation with both print and VR elements, based on artist Ruvan’s photographs of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.
The exhibit transports viewers into the skies, plants and seas of Yucatán with large scale photographs, a 7-minute VR film and a tranquil soundtrack created by Gabriel Andruzzi from The Rapture. The exhibit will also offer guided meditation sessions, personal VR experiences, and a relaxing setting of comfortable mattresses to allow viewers to fully immerse themselves in the artistic and reflective environment.
The opening of the showcase will take place on Nov. 2nd from 7 to 10pm, where Ruvan will debut his new photo book, Yucatán.
