About

Ailsa Sinclair is a multidisciplinary designer with a background in graphic design from Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. She has recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Visual Communication. She works with constructed conversations ranging from deeply personal with universal human issues to more academic subjects and using a diverse range of media from graphic and furniture design to performance and radio. Her work is as much a conversation with the materials as it is with the content. Much of her work is driven by trying to gain a better understanding of the world and the people around her. Drawing system showcase her strong interest in life drawing and capturing the human form as well as constructing opportunities for dialogue to take place.

Jean Vatchara is a communication designer with a background in architecture, design and art direction. Shehas recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Information Experience Design. Her practice revolves around addressing the human condition using visual and interactive means. Through using humour and levity, her work engages with serious but invisible subjects. The Reflection series tackles the concept of identity and the relationship between the self and the other. The interactive pieces inspect on how much we know about ourselves and reflect, creating a door to an inner journey. The project explores the idea of dualism, between the mind and the body, the represented and the chaotic reality.

Please join us on Wednesday 13 July for the opening of the exhibition with Ailsa Sinclair’s performance ‘Drawing System’ 7-9pm and Jean Vatchara’s interactive installation throughout the evening. There will be a bar with drinks.
