a glorious afternoon of tea, cake, music hall and rap!

About

Ragroof Theatre and Ida Barr return to Myatt's Fields Park Bandstand for a glorious afternoon of tea, cake, dancing, music hall and rap, with a distinctly intergenerational theme! With local performers ranging in age from 6yrs to 92yrs, everyone is invited to take part in this unique dance & song event. Ida Barr's Mash Up by performer Christopher Green ‘Missy Elliott meets Marie Lloyd. Awe inspiring' The Guardian The performer Christopher Green, as notorious & hilarious music hall/rap star pensioner, Ida Barr, is developing a new intergenerational project which will explore the relationship between popular Music Hall performance with contemporary rap music. A series of unique music & song workshops and rehearsals will culminate in a live public performance at the finale Tea Dance event. Ida Barr will perform with a company of 60 singers (aged 5yrs — 92yrs) brought together from local seniors community group Stockwell Good Neighbours and Peckham Shed Youth Theatre. Tea Dance by Ragroof Theatre ‘Witty, moving, energetic and well executed, Ragroof Theatre captures the past without ever being sentimental' Angus MacKechnie, Watch This Space at The National Theatre Taking over from Ida Barr, Ragroof Theatre will invite the crowd to hit the dance floor with DJ Champagne Charlie spinning tunes from the 20's to the 40's. The partner dancing is irresistible, and instant dance classes with Dorothy's Shoes covering key steps mean even the uninitiated can take part with flair! Featuring showcase performances by local dance groups: Moving Into Age, McAlpine School of Dance and Salsateca.
