About

Paul is a self-taught artist and designer. His creative practice includes art, product design, interiors, film and product manufacture. If you live in Sheffield you may be already be familiar with the diversity of his work. From the beautifully forged street lights at The Globe works, the benches in the city library to city wide developments including The Forum, The Sinclair Building and The York. His artistic style is a melting pot of his inspirations; sixties Pop Art, graphic design and Urban art – imagine a mash-up of Richard Hamilton, Scott King, D-face and Faile and you’ll get somewhere close.

The images are consistently bright, colourful and in your face. The themes of the work ranges from sexuality to the ‘girl next door’ and from Celebrity Culture to Youth Culture, in his own words -

“I need a reason to start something and with the time and effort involved it has to be a good reason, I can’t just do it to look pretty. On the other hand I do have a very sharpened aesthetic sensibility, so I have difficulty doing ugly, but I will get better at it.”
