Most of my current work broods upon the world we have been cast into. We are beset by crises of every conceivable hue. Our response has been to become a world that runs on hate. On fear.
It seems that only by denying the humanity in others can such destructive forces function. We turn those who are not the same as us into monsters They return the compliment. So our world becomes peopled with monsters. Of course, as in all curses, it rebounds upon us, and those who shout monster become monster. We are making tragic myths of ourselves.
The opening night will include live music and a spoken word performance, especially written for this event, titled 'Poor Wee Monster' by Emma Bolland.
