I walk here as much as I can, but I’m very busy. It’s absolutely beautiful here (even though it’s in the city). There are lilacs and hawthorns and laburnums etc. blossoming in all the gardens - Vincent to Theo van Gogh, London, 30th April 1874
About
Van Gogh was a great walker, often making journeys that would take him multiple days to complete. During his short period in England, he carried out walks from London to Brighton, Ramsgate to Welwyn, and Isleworth to Lewisham.
Join writer Iain Sinclair and painter Renchi Bicknell as they recount their experiences, through conversation, painting and film, retracing some of Van Gogh's long-distance walks across England, Belgium and France.
Part of The Living House, celebrating 150 years since Van Gogh lived in South London.
This event is sponsored by Brixton Brewery. Each in-person ticket comes with a free can of limited edition The Living House Pale Ale.
Online talk tickets will include access to watch the event live, and a link to the recording will be available for two weeks afterwards.

Their latest set of walks have been made in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh.
