International art critic Marta Lock will present the stage at Seborga of the project I percorsi dell'Arte, born from an idea of the curator Doriana Della Volta through which she wants to show contemporary art in the most enchanting italian small villages

The collective exhibition I Percorsi dell'Arte, a travelling exhibition project conceived by curator Doriana Della Volta that allows contemporary painters and sculptors to be seen, discovered and admired within important public structures, will be inaugurated on Sunday 14 July at 6 pm. Its mission is to involve, at each stage, municipal administrations that make available spaces that would otherwise be difficult to obtain. The curator's intent is to involve local institutions so that the artists can have the right relevance since they are inserted in suggestive and fascinating contexts, as in the case of the Principality of Seborga, a small town rich in history positioned in a privileged place from which it dominates the western Ligurian Riviera and the French Côte d'Azur.

The narrow medieval streets of the town will lead to the large spaces of the Municipal Museum Area gallery where the artworks of thirty-five artists from all over Italy will be exhibited. They will show the local public their personal expressive language, each maintaining their own distinct characteristics while interacting with colleagues whose diversity only enriches and gives the public an enthralling show made up of colours and varied and innovative executive techniques as only modern-day creatives know how to offer.

The collective exhibition, which has been sponsored by the Seborga Municipality and the Tiberina Academy, will see the Mayor and Princess Nina present at the vernissage, and will be presented by international art critic Marta Lock, who also edited the introductory text of the catalogue.

"A jewel set among the Ligurian hills with a privileged view of the western Riviera and the beaches of Monaco, Nice, Cannes and its islands, and Saint-Tropez; this is the small village of Seborga that hides, among its narrow medieval streets and perfectly preserved historical palaces, a history of courage, of the determination of its people to maintain their independence in the face of all the vicissitudes of history and the various attempts at conquest that have followed one another since antiquity [... ] Thanks to the initiative of Doriana Della Volta, art is taking its place in the princely salon of Seborga, allowing the artists taking part in the collective exhibition, but also the public following the event from home, to discover an enchanted place that is little known outside the confines of the Region of Liguria, inducing, why not? new potential visitors to discover the enchanting medieval views, while the local population as well as Princess Nina will have the opportunity to get to know some of the emerging names in contemporary art and perhaps fall in love with an artwork to the point of wishing to make it part of the Principality's heritage. " Marta Lock explains.

So the unmissable appointment, for the local public and for visitors who would like to attend the vernissage and discover the small but enchanting Principality of Seborga, will be Saturday 14 July for the inauguration, but the exhibition will be open until 30 July 2024.
