'I made him a little hat' is a look into the individual and loved home of Ruislip resident June Brown. Through a series of photographs Kara Lines tells the story of a home, its objects and their owner, which questions the value of our possessions and how we make a house into a home. The photographs are accompanied June's own observations as she recollects how she came to own many of the objects which she chooses to surround herself with. Kara's artistic practice is concerned with the place of objects within our lives and the stories they can tell. Her methods of making reflect a process of discovery and a desire to maintain the truth of the objects' histories. Kara has a MA in Graphic Design (Distinction) from the London College of Communication and works in interiors, being one of the fifth generation owners of Pinner's oldest shop, Lines of Pinner. The exhibition takes place at Pinner's new gallery, The Attic, located in the old upstairs rooms of Lines of Pinner's 17th century Grade II listed building. This unique and intimate space is the perfect setting for such a personal and revealing exhibition.
