An evening of fun and excitement to celebrate the birthday of Penzance's most famous son, Sir Humphry Davy
About
6.15pm
Feel The Power: The Royal Institution will do a Penzance version of their famous Christmas lecture, expect flashes and bangs as they conduct exciting science experiments.
7.15pm
Penzance Youth Orchestra and Tim Boulton: Playing selected pieces by Schubert; music from Humphry Davy's time.
7.45pm
Question Time: Meet and talk to the Humphry Davy ambassadors, people from Penzance who've followed in Davy’s footsteps, pursuing their ambitions and succeeding in their chosen fields, including Michael Grandage, an internationally renowned film and theatre director; Neil Tregarthen who left Penzance with £100 in his pocket and is now a multi-millionaire businessman; and Abigail Birch, a 12-year-old from Madron with a rare form of Dwarfism, who recently won 10 gold medals at the UK dwarf games and is set to compete in the World Dwarf games in 2017. No event would be complete without the man himself and our resident Sir Humphry, actor Paul Sanders, will also be here to answer questions about his life and times
The evening ends with dancing, music and drinks in the cafe.
