Icelandic artist Hreinn Fridfinnsson is this fall participating in Galerienhaus Berlin’s ten-year anniversary.
About
Fridfinnsson will present a new collection of works, that he usually makes using found objects, at the Galerie Nordenhake in Berlin.
On of Iceland’s leading conceptual artists, Hreinn Fridfinnsson will present his recent works at the exhibition. Fridfinnsson employs stark poetry transcending the often-commonplace subjects and objects. Materials reach beyond their materiality and submit to the imagination of the artist through which he creates his art pieces. Fridfinnnsson often resorts to found objects that he uses in his artworks, interfering as little as possible with their state. In the process, he creates new works that investigate the concepts of self and explore the rhythms of time. In his own words, “notions of time are always compelling. I read what comes my way about physics and mathematics, but I read as one who is uninitiated. The feeling and the interest in the essence of time is serious, but my dealing with time is not knowledge-based; it is more exploratory and feeling-based.”
