About

Using a furnace of molten glass, participants will learn the art of hot glass sculpture through the teaching of traditional Venetian techniques alongside contemporary methods adapted from northern Europe and America. Basic skills will be taught, from gathering molten glass to blowing it or in some cases simply manipulating the form with a range of tools and found objects. Participants will also gain exposure to applying colour and working in small teams to create dramatic effects. The aim is for each person to leave the workshop with a finished glass sculpture, encompassing a new understanding of material and technique.
