About

Over the last 25 years EMVS ' Empresa Municipal de la Vivienda y el Suelo de Madrid, the State-run Housing Association in Madrid ' has been one of the most innovative commissioners of new housing on the planet. Projects have been designed by distinguished international practices such MVRDV, Tom Mayne, Peter Cook, Paulo Mendes Da Rocha, Wiel Arets, David Chipperfield, Ricardo Legorreta, Toyo Ito and wellknown Spanish practices such as Aranguren y Gallegos, Nieto y Sobejano, Matos y Martinez. The body of buildings and projects celebrated in this exhibition ' the majority winners of open competitions from 1981'2006 concentrated in the city's developing outlying districts 'forms what is almost a textbook on recent housing design.
