From organized protest to free-form dance, transgender life, everyday existence, and our natural world, Hope for Our Planet examines the seeds being planted today that will ensure a better tomorrow.

About

Featuring the work of five local artists, Hope for Our Planet is the culmination of the Dickerman Prints Gallery residency program. During that time, the photographers worked closely with Master Printer Seth Dickerman to create a powerful and cohesive series of images that withstand the test of time.

Kelly Johnson’s Direct Action documents the brave people fighting for human rights, political freedom, economic equality and the survival of our human race.

Jordan Reznick’s Queer Babes celebrates the complex identities of queer and transgender people in San Francisco.

Sumeet Banerji’s Shroomscapes turns nature inside out, examining our world from the viewpoint of a Portobello Mushroom.

Nicholas Korkos’ Dance in Motion explores the intimate and abstract world of dance studios across North America.

David Egan’s I Always Hoped For Better focuses on elements of the past and the ever-changing landscape of America’s West.

Dickerman Prints Gallery will host a public opening reception for Hope for Our Planet on Thursday, September 28, 2017, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at 1141 Howard Street, San Francisco. The exhibition will be on display until October 28, 2017.
