To mark the 15th year since the Handover, Laura Jordan has carefully crafted a work with the trimmings of British Colonialism (spot the zebra crossing lampposts) yet visually rich with the detailed expansive skyline that came with the modern development of Hong Kong. Laura completed the piece after her first and only visit to Hong Kong. The world's most vertical city, the piece stays true to the juxtaposed landscape of high rise and natural beauty. Laura's signature fantastical imagery is used to demonstrate the interconnectedness of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories as cable carts and trams float around steep, hilly terrain.
