Renowned Chinese landscape artist Hong Ling launches his first UK exhibition in London, showcasing 15 stunning newly created works.

About

Hong Ling, one of China's greatest and most revered landscape painters is to unveil his first British exhibition, Hong Ling: Contemporary Chinese Landscape, later this month at Asia House, as part of the Asian Art in London 2012. Open to the public from 30 October to 9 November, this exquisite collection offers a flavour of master painter Hong Ling's recent work. A contemporary Chinese artist, Hong's work unites the distinct yet delicate essence of traditional Chinese landscape painting with refined oil painting technical precision and ambitious breadth of scale and subject. Based in his purpose-built traditional artist studio in the magnificent Yellow Mountain in southern China, Hong has devoted 30 years to realising his unique surroundings on canvas. With influences ranging from J.M.W Turner, to his own extensive travels across Asia, Hong's pieces articulate a honed sensitivity to the subtle transcendentalism of nature, on a breath-taking scale, a contemporary take on the philosophical and visual thinking in China. Hong Ling (b.1955) has been represented by Soka Art since 1999, and in 2011 his major retrospective exhibition Boundless Momentum was shown at Today Art Museum in Beijing and Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou, China.
