We questioned the necessity of dividing art pieces and spectators in the formalistic contemporary art etiquette. However, a notion of ‘homing’ came into mind and indicated our comprehension of curation, which can be approachable both physically and spiritually.
About
Presented by the WB Art and Music Foundation, in collaboration with seven young artists from all over the world who currently based in London, this exhibition “Homing” brings together installations, films, fashion designs and sculptures within a domestic curation context.
The Artists are students at Chelsea College of Art, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Central Saint Martin and University of Brighton. Cross-subjects collaboration of the artists flourished the exhibition with a comprehensive interpretation of the contemporary art scenario. The works on view blend visuals, sound and tactility into immersive, intimate interactions that contemplate the power and intercommunications between artworks and curation.
“The unconventional exhibition space threw doubts on the tacit ‘white cube style’ of curating shows and displaying artworks. It seems that white walls and spatial arrangements authorize the domestic room to act as an artistic and professional site. We questioned the necessity of dividing art pieces and spectators in the formalistic contemporary art etiquette. However, a notion of ‘homing’ came into mind and indicated our comprehension of curation, which can be approachable both physically and spiritually.”
This exhibition will open on 12th December, please ‘come and ring the bell’ to meet the young brilliant hearts and enjoy the lovely show!
