HOMELAND

About

Homeland holds a deep cultural association with state, region or territory. Homeland sets out to expose and explore the everyday gallery space that artists use as bases for setting up work by creating their own territories. Homeland will experiment and question the historicism of a front-line image. This will question how easy and safe it is to implicate an artist's own autonomous philosophies in art. These autonomous possibilities remain open within the image world of technological appearance. This exhibition will question the international and social documentation of photography, drawing, film, painting and sound through gallery space. All featured practitioners are Liverpool-based artists who have come together from varying cultural and geographical backgrounds including Poland, Cyprus, America, The South and Cumbria. As artists we all work closely to concepts of political discourse, visual display and sensualism. It's time to shake some foundations. Rattle a few cages. The Liverpool young bloods have been let loose, and have something to say!!
