A selection of drawings, paintings and collage by Mario Lautier Vella
About
Mario Lautier Vella peeks through the curtains for his latest solo show entitled Homebodies.
Following his successful debut solo exhibition, Like Home, at Watford Museum in 2012, Lautier Vella presents a new body of work that takes cues from daily life in British suburbia and the towns and villages in his birth country, Malta.
The collection of paintings, drawings and collage explores his ideas around presence and absence, invasion and evasion, protection, surveillance, intimacy and the space between our public and private lives.
The result is an array of hybrid, morphing forms, concealment, disguises and masked alter-egos that swing from the figurative to the abstract or settle somewhere in-between.
Transient encounters, playful reverie and sticky situations - do you see what I see?
