About
CFCCA are proud to present Ho Tzu Nyen's first UK solo show, The Critical Dictionary of Southeast Asia, including two further works from the encyclopaedic series: The Name (2015) and The Nameless (2014). Recently recognised by ArtReview as one of the top 100 most influential people in the contemporary art world, Ho Tzu Nyen uses historical texts and artifacts to create unique films, video pieces, installations and theatre works that have been shown worldwide from Guggenheim, New York, to the Venice Biennale. CDOSEA focuses on Southeast Asia’s colonial histories and national identities, and constructs an alternative collective identity for the region, presented as a virtual, critical dictionary.
