Wolverhampton Art Gallery houses one of the best collections of contemporary art in the region and this exhibition shows off previously unseen work from this collection, exploring the fascinating theme of identity. See acclaimed photographic artists Richard Billingham, Paul Graham and Zineb Sedira, as well as life-size sculptures and drawings by acclaimed Brazilian artist, Ana Maria Pacheco. This exhibition brings together a range of work from Wolverhampton's own contemporary collection, dating from the 1980s to the present day. Thanks to grant aid from the Contemporary Arts Society (CAS) the Gallery has been able to acquire more than 50 new works since 1992, a selection of which are shown alongside more recent additions to the collection, highlighting Wolverhampton's consistent approach to collecting contemporary art that tackles social and political themes.
