Hidden/Exposed

About

Hidden/Exposed includes the work of 19 contemporary local and international artists exploring the theme through the mediums of photography, installation, drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media. The show seeks to explore the dialogue between the extremes of that which is hidden, that which is exposed and the space where the two meet and overlap. Two shows will occupy the same space of The Mile End Art Pavilion, without a formal physical divide between works nominated as Hidden or Exposed. The viewer is invited to contemplate the relationships between the artworks and the categories without any predetermined influence. Hidden/Exposed is the second open call of the PLAN.OPEN. Initiative; to promote and create opportunities for up and coming artists, through conceptual exhibitions with an emphasis on innovation and aesthetic. Participating artists: Jon Cardwell, Hyunjeong Lim, Phillip Hall-Patch, Jeannie Driver, Kaoru Ishikawa, Mark Adams, Martin Lau, Jessica Calnan, Joshua Alan Emery, Anthony Carr, Matt Martin, Vicki Ling, Gillian Swan, Kristian Kragelund, Elisavet Kalpaxi, Brent Thomas, Lorenzo Belenguer, Caroline lambard, Demelza Watts curators: Nimrod Vardi and Caroline Jane Harris 3rd September - 9th September 2012, 11am — 6pm daily Private View: Thursday 6th September, 6 — 9.30pm Mile End Art Pavilion, Clinton road, Mile End Park, London E3 4QY
