Hidden Layers’ exhibition showcases the work of four individual artists, exploring how much of the artist’s unique identity is conveyed in each piece she/he is creating. How many layers are hidden in each finished piece?
About
The Hidden Layers exhibition showcases artworks by four individual artists. While each artist explores his/her own unique personality, some commonalities of interest may be discerned. How many layers are hidden in each finished piece? How do we describe those layers? What are the differing variables between each artist’s work? What are their commonalities? Do we all express ourselves, our thoughts and emotions, through the objects that we create?
Each painting, sculpture, collage or print is an expression of the artist’s own journey through a creation process which manifests through the application of layers of paint, marks, variety of textures, shapes or forms, into a work of art.
Four different artists - four unique expressions of an individual's state of mind, a perception of his/her world via a landscape or the human body. By bringing together a mix of different mediums, styles and techniques, this exhibition promises to be a fascinating journey that explores the subject of hidden layers from many angles.
In Hidden Layers, the focus is shifted to you as an observer to engage with the finished piece and discover for yourself the layers within the objects.
