About
HIDDEN HEATHBROOK is the best kept secret of WANDSWORTH ARTS FRINGE, hosting two days of exciting outdoor art.
Following its successful debut last year, we are expanding Hidden Heathbrook to a whole weekend of theatre, circus, music, puppetry and art. Be amazed by stunning live performance, be entertained by delightful characters, explore our interactive workshops and spend an unforgettable weekend amongst the weird and wonderful. There’s something for all the family. And the best thing: It’s completely FREE!
On Saturday, thundering across Heathbrook Park come the biggest herd of rhinoceros ever seen in the capital in PUPPETS OF GUTS’ interactive big puppet mass movement spectacle, Rampaging Rhinos.
Also returning this year are the local talents of the Miraculous Theatre Company with their immersive play the Brooklyn Healer, as well as Action Space artist Pardip Kapil with his imaginative and interactive installations.
Politically engaged street artist Molly Orange performs her one and only one-woman show Step Ball Change; and you can learn to build instruments out of everyday objects to join the fantastic jam session of Spare Tyre.
Sunday’s headliner is the exciting new circus company, HIKAPEE, with their show Home. Home is a daring outdoor circus piece, weaving together slapstick comedy with breathtaking aerial, acrobatic and physical performances to explore what it is to create a ‘home,’ catching the imaginations of children and adults alike.
Also performing are genre-bending theatre company PIF PAF with an exclusive preview of their latest production SEED. Our special Sunday treat is the Big Art Picnic for which we invite our visitors to bring a blanket and join us in crafting, games and adventures. Come and explore The Rig, a participatory workshop, that combines creativity, musical exploration, and adventure.
