Heroes & Villains is a new series by Peter Lloyd which is bold, fun and serious and themed on positive representation of diversity in popular culture and art.

About

The artist Peter Lloyd is also the Dean of Southampton University Art School and is well known for his series about the ‘Lucha Libre’ Mexican wrestlers, bold and funny depictions of fictional wrestlers collected by David Bowie and Holly Johnson amongst others. Peter created ‘Heroes & Villains’ with more serious intent to highlight the lack of diverse positive representation in mainstream pop culture and these super heroes were inspired initially by seeing the Hollywood action film ‘Black Panther’ with his family. He decided there and then that he wanted add to the pantheon of super heroes in his own inimitable way.
