A dual installation in the historic prison cells at Plymouth's Devonport Guildhall commemorates this year’s centenary of Votes For Women, with narratives of social and personal remembrance.
About
Cell 1: One hundred medals commemorate this year’s centenary of Votes For Women. The installation pays homage to the dedication and sacrifice of each individual campaigner, combined with the collective impact achieved by the movement.
Cell 2: An installation dedicated to my grandmother and personal hero, a Suffragist and supporter of the women’s rights campaign with non-violent protest. Personal effects are juxtaposed with my commemorative artworks and form part of the Gendered Archive series.
